Today I went out into the yard.
Ya know, we've been here in the Old House for about 3 months.
Feels like forever.
Today I opened the garage and grabbed a pair of gloves.
When I put them on they smelled just like her.
Oh how I miss her.
The smell brought back so many memories.
As I cleaned and pruned and cut back old growth,
I found a little purple flower poking its head out.
New Life.
And as I wear the gloves that she once did,
I feel purpose.
I feel like I'm in the right place.
The Old House on the corner.
My home.
Jess, I am sorry about your grandma. I have to tell you how much I covet that red brick house on the corner. We just rode our bikes past there Monday and I stopped and starred I've always loved that house it is beautiful and full of character and the lot is just amazing! I'm happy you get to live there and carry some of your grandmas gardening.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute blog. Not going to lie, tears filled my eyes as I read this post. How neat for you to have your cute house full of character, memories and new life blooming every spring. Thanks for sharing. You are just the cutest.
